Agreed, it seems the current way works on a ALT+first letter of the menu item you are trying to select, a bit cumbersome and non-standard.

The problem is caused because File and Find have the same modifiers assigned to them (F).

Ok, this is probably a Linux bug then, as the only way menus are keyboard accessible when editing a file is by pressing F10.
