There should be an option for 'Find in files' to allow searching subdirectories.

That is the default behaviour... is it not working for you?

That's confusing, and annoying if I want to search a large directory (such as the root of my hard drive).

It is not. If it's supposed to be, I think it worked before I updated to the latest version - I thought I was just going crazy earlier.

Build 2025 on http://www.sublimetext.com/dev correct this issue.
