ability to move the side bar wherever there is space

Add the ability for the side bar to appear where there is enough space, (left or right)

I'd really like to see them implement this. It's such a trivial addition, but would make the editor fit my workflow so much better.

If the developers can't figure out how to make it work, perhaps they could talk to the crew who did Coda2. Those guys didn't seem to have an issues making the sidebar work on the right.
