Synchronise vertical scrolling

I have two files I want to compare opened in a two column layout and want them to scroll synchronously so that the same lines are shown in each column.

Yes exactly like that! Only it DOESN'T WORK! I see the Sync Scroll in the view menu, I have it checked, but it doesn't *actually* sync the scrolling of two columns.
