all opened files should always have a tab

Vincent Côté-Roy vor 13 Jahren aktualisiert vor 13 Jahren 2
currently you need to double-click a file on the sidebar, or open it via the file open dialog, in order for it to have its own tab.

if you just single-click on a file, you see it in the editor, you can edit it, but it doesn't have a tab. This is confusing because you don't know for sure which file is opened, especially If you have similar files.

vintage mode not properly escaping partially-typed commands

Chad Ostrowski vor 12 Jahren aktualisiert vor 12 Jahren 0
If I start to "change 'til" by typing `ct` and then say "Oops! I meant `2ct`", and thus hit Escape, it seems that Sublime Text 2 only escapes the `t`, so when I hit `c` again for my second attempt, my command is interpreted as `cc`. The line disappears! What happened! It's very disorienting.

Double-clicking a file in project opens it and then focuses on the next file in list

ZachDowd vor 13 Jahren aktualisiert von Oktay Acikalin vor 13 Jahren 3
I've noticed since 2041 when you double-click a file to open it, the tabs opens but then a preview of the file above it opens (because the new file is added to the group in the sidebar and all items are moved down by 1)

Not all the time, but the majority of.

Is it possible to adjust the content to the windows size, making horizontal scrollbar disappear?

Maxime Laforet vor 12 Jahren aktualisiert vor 12 Jahren 2
For example, in editors such as Coda or Espresso, the content adjusts itself depending on the size of the window, so that there isn't an horizontal scrollbar. Especially useful when you need to resize the window you're working in.

Latest development build breaks the CMake TMbundle

Mikkel Kroman vor 12 Jahren aktualisiert von Jon Skinner vor 12 Jahren 1
When I try to open a CMakeLists.txt file in Sublime Text 2 (dev) build 2158, I get the following errors:

end pattern with unmatched parenthesis in regex ^(?!(?=\S)

Error loading syntax file "Packages/cmake.tmbundle/Syntaxes/CMake Listfile.tmLanguage": Error in regex: end pattern with unmatched parenthesis in regex (?i)^\s*(function|macro)\s*(\(

I submit this as a bug as it occurs after upgrading to Build 2158 from 2157.

I'm running Arch Linux 64bit, using the cmake.tmbundle from textmate/cmake.tmbundle.

Edit:
I've just discovered that this occurs with all syntax packages.
Is it only affecting me?

Documentation generation

Please consider the autogeneration of a pdf document that captures the current state of Sublime Text documentation, making it available for download, to support the use of the editor when not online. (Thanks.)

Ruby build system regexp doesn't capture --from

Stian Håklev vor 12 Jahren aktualisiert vor 12 Jahren 0
The build system for Ruby is great, but the regexp doesn't work for all kinds of output, for example with the error code below:

/usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.9.1/gems/bibtex-ruby-2.0.4/lib/bibtex/entry.rb:282:in `method_missing': undefined method `BibTeX' for #<BibTeX::Entry:0x00000101190170> (NoMethodError)from /Users/Stian/src/folders2web/bibtex-cleanup.rb:36:in `<main>'
F4 correctly picks up the first error, and goes to the right file/line number, but for the second line, it tries to open the file "from /Users/Stian/src/folders2web/bibtex-cleanup.rb", which obviously doesn't exist.

scroll_past_end "Base File.sublime-settings" does not work

Josh Benner vor 13 Jahren aktualisiert von Jon Skinner vor 13 Jahren 0

Setting scroll_past_end to true (which is actually the default) does not seem to work to allow any file types not overriding this to scroll past the end of buffers.

However, when scroll_past_end is set to true in a syntax-specific settings file, it works.

Antwort
Jon Skinner vor 13 Jahren
While counter-intuitive, this is working as designed. scroll_past_end is overridden the the OSX defaults (in Default/Base File (OSX).sublime-settings), so changing the regular default settings will have no effect - you need to place the setting in your user settings.

In general, it's better to place all your settings in your user settings, so they're not lost when updating. It's likely the default settings will be read only in the future.

Sidebar browsing broken since 2.0

Nicolas Glinoer vor 12 Jahren 0

Since the move to 2.0, the sidebar browsing is no longer working properly when browsing files hosted on our NAS: when we use the sidebar to dig into a subfolder structure, expanding a directory node often produces no effect: the Triangle icon is pointing down, but no content is shown below it. Only by using the right-click menu > Refresh, does the content appear.

This affects all our Windows 7 configs, when accessing our files via SMB. The files are stored on a dedicated Linux NAS (FreeNAS), on our LAN.

The issue seems to only affect "deep" folder structures, not the first/second levels.

The issue does not seem to affect files stored locally, or shared on a Windows server.

This was working fine up to Build 2181 (remarkably well, in fact!)

The 2.0.1 update does not fix the issue.

implement (or document) universal command arguments like ^U in emacs

The thing I miss the most, and keep stumbling over, is ^U universal argument support, the way it's used in emacs. I implemented my emacs-like key bindings, pretty much except for this common argument.

Expand selection within scope

U N. vor 13 Jahren 0
It would be cool to have some kind of variable/word selection "within scope". E.g. one has a cursor inside a word and expands selection "to word". The thing I think would be useful for some of the users, is the ability to expand selection further away, selecting all the instances of the already selected word within the scope. Very useful when renaming variables.

[option] Automatically display hidden tabs while switching files

aristidesfl vor 12 Jahren aktualisiert vor 12 Jahren 0
I like having tabs hidden most of the time but when switching files with the keyboard would be nice to see what I'm doing.
It's a waste of screen to have the tabs visible all the time when I'm writing code.
I want to see them only when I need them.

just like the search pannel is only visible when you are searching

The same goes for the sidebar.. (with file switching and focus on it)

House passes bill to encourage onshore energy production

ann banda vor 10 Jahren 0

http://www.pennenergy.com/articles/pennenergy/2013/11/house-passes-bill-to-encourage-onshore-energy-production.html

This package of bills would protect and expand onshore American energy production and create new American jobs by streamlining government red-tape and regulations. Also, this legislation would establish an efficient and effective process to responsibly produce both renewable and conventional energy on our federal lands as part of a true all-of-the-above approach American energy production.

“For far too long the Obama Administration has deliberately blocked increased energy exploration and development in America, causing both oil and natural gas production on federal land to decline since President Obama took office. The real growth in American energy production is happening on state and private lands and this bill would bring that growth to federal lands,” said Natural Resources Committee Chairman Doc Hastings (WA-04). “This legislation unleashes America’s energy potential on federal lands by streamlining the federal permitting process and opening up proven energy reserves to increased energy production in places like the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska. The passage of this legislation today is an important step forward to increase much-needed energy production in America that will create jobs, grow the economy, and make energy more affordable for hardworking American families.”

H.R. 1965, the Federal Lands Jobs and Energy Security Act of 2013, includes the following five Natural Resources bills:

Federal Lands Jobs and Energy Security Act (Lamborn CO-05) - This bill would reform the leasing process for onshore oil and natural gas projects on federal lands to eliminate unnecessary delays; reform the process for energy permitting, once a lease is in hand, to encourage the timely development of our federal resources; ensure funds are available for efficient wind and solar permitting; and set clear rules for the development of U.S. oil shale resources.

Planning for American Energy Act (Tipton, CO-03) - This bill would establish common sense steps to create an all-of-the-above American energy plan for using federal lands to meet our Nation’s energy needs.

National Petroleum Reserve Alaska Access Act (Hastings, WA-04) - This bill would cut through bureaucratic red tape to unlock the full potential of energy resources in the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska (NPR-A) by ensuring that oil and natural gas are developed and transported in a timely and efficient manner.

BLM Live Internet Auctions Act (Johnson, OH-06) - This bill would give the Secretary of the Interior the authority to conduct internet-based auctions for onshore leases to ensure the best return to the Federal taxpayer, reduce fraud, and secure the leasing process.

Native American Energy Act (Young, AK-At Large) - This bill would streamline burdensome and duplicative government regulations and remove the barriers erected by the Obama Administration that are blocking Indian tribes from developing energy resources on their own land and creating new jobs.

backup

Pietje Puk vor 11 Jahren aktualisiert vor 11 Jahren 2

I am a Mac user with OS X

Recommended by users, I recently bought and use Sublime Text 2. Before I was a fully satisfied user of UltraEdit.

UltraEdit has a nice and quick backup mode. I expected to find such a feature in Sublime Text 2 as well, but nope.

I downloaded the 'Automatic Backup' package, but now I get messages something like: If you use backup, Sublime Text will slow down tremendously, so switch it off.

With Automatic Backup I end up with a several chains of numberous consequent folders and in the end there is a file.

Those few files already take up several MB's of diskspace.

With UltraEdit I have just ONE folder where al backups go. I have 22,200 files in that folder and they use 212 MB of diskspace.

What I want is a Automatic Backup just as UltraEdit offers.

I want to use Sublime Text 2 to code programs, but it seems that I have to know Sublime Code to use the program instead of using it program my own stuff.

Compared with UltraEdit, I don't have to delve into the UltraEdit code to use that program, but with Sublime Text I have to.

Am I wrong?

Did I miss some information?

Is there a user friendly GUI?

Please tell me!

Thanks in advance.
