I would really like to see FTP and SFTP (the ssh access is sometimes the only access) with browsing in the sidebar panel to work just like local folder browsing. It should have a way to save FTP login credentials and be able to select saved FTP logins. Maybe even make it a project type. So you save the FTP project like any other project and when you open it back up it re-establishes the connection and brings back the previously opened files.

No FTP built into the code pad is the only thing stopping me from using this.

Notepad++ has this. Only thing keeping this from being my fulltime editor.

Same here. Just went to try out Sublime Text today, it looks lovely, but it's really missing an FTP option.

This is the only thing keeping me from switching from Aptana to SublimeText.

Something like Eclipse Target Management http://www.eclipse.org/tm/

I just can't work without that

I have a request into Jon to add a sidebar API to that easier browsing is possible through the SFTP package.

With all the Coda2 buzz I decided it was time to checkout Sublime Text 2 as an alternative before committing to a new IDE.

Sublime is amazing, except for remote development environments. Until remote sftp is baked in to the sidebar I'll have to stick with coda.

I was really looking forward to switching to Sublime.

As a workaround, or better solution, you guys can use sshfs or curlftpfs.  Both are in the Ubuntu repos and should be available (or something similar) on OSX and Win.  In my experience, I found these filesystem mounting solutions to be a much better solution than anything implemented in a text editor.

SFTP Net Drive works very well on Windows, better than the win-sshfs implementation. It's added maybe one extra step to my workflow and it's very convenient to mount a remote drive as local (which ST2 is already excellent at handling).

Gotta say I really love sublimetext2, been using notepad++ but sublime auto completion, auto bracketing rocks and save my time, but unfortunately the only thing holding me back is the built in ftp, the current wbond sftp solution is nice, but the workflow could be improved. notepad++ nppFTP's solution is the simplest and easiest to use, it's just that I'd like to see the ability to set bookmark, if this is on ST2, I'm sold.

FTP would make ST2 a dream. I currently use a plugin to do this, but it's lacking in features and support. I would love to see this suggestion get more attention, and considering the large amount of webbies who use this I'm surprised it hasn't.

A fully-integrated Dreamweaver-style layout for the side panel with Filezilla's sort of "backend."

I love sublime, i used it when working locally then uploading via git version control. However I have just got a new job where I am working directly on the server via ftp. I have had to resort to using Aptana because you can upload automatically on save. If you could get this feature, maybe save against the project like Patrick said it would be awsome and there would be nothing holding it back.

Sublime2 is a wonderful editor indeed.

I agree that a nice ftp browser would be just perfect for me too.

Please let it be!

If ST2 have ftp just like Notepad++, it will be no longer free trial..

I really like Sublime and would make the full switch from notepad++ if it had better ftp support. But I think putting it in the side bar would be just doing what everyone else has done. I like the out of the box thinking they put into this software and would like to see a more novel approach to ftp as well. It might be interesting to have a pop up ftp window called by a hot key combination.but with the option of mounting it in the ui for those who like a more traditional look. In any case I would want it to be out of view when I don't need it.

Need a real FTP browser with cache not a local browser with ftp uploader like sftp.

With that ST2 will be perfect !

By the way thank you for your great job ! You made my week !

Cant believe this hasn't been added... I love ST2 but get irritated having to right click sftp/ftp, browse server, etc. I waste a lot of time doing this for every file I need to open as I close and re open a lot of files to keep it from being cluttered. Would love a ftp browsing sidebar.

I started writing local code, and Sublime is perfect for that. But when I need to do something remotely, such as Django editing in a dev environment, the whole idea of being immersed in code in an environment free of distractions and being able to quickly do things is lost. I cant edit files remotely, thus I stick with Notepad++. I nearly bought this software before I realized it didnt have remote capabilities. I guess I assumed it was just a given. I tried the SFTP package, but its to much work to open up the files without a easy to use directory viewer. I know this all sounds dumb, but it is irritating to have to go through all the steps and the clumsy navigator to do something so simple.

Please vote up the Sidebar API issue (http://sublimetext.userecho.com/topic/19475-side-bar-api/) which is the only thing that is in the way of making this happen.

This is important as it makes FTP integration seamless. Now I am using SFTP plugin, but I need to download all the code from server and need to Sync this with remote everyday. So if there is one sidebar ,like in Aptana, FTP browsing became very easy.
